Promoting and strengthening Boys & Girls Clubs’ relationships with

What We Do
-
The
Association strives to advance the BGCA mission and programs in
local communities, and to provide support and development
-
Promotes and administers the Washington State “Youth of the Year”
program
-
Promotes and administers the Governors “Community Service
Scholarship” awarded annually at the Governors Youth of the Year
reception
-
Offer
BGCA programs at over 130 separate locations, including Clubhouses,
Native lands, public housing, school sites, and community centers
-
Serve
over 147,000 Washington state youth in grades K – 12 through annual
membership and outreach
services through 102 Clubs and an additional 100 outreach sites
-
Offer
dedicated youth facilities that are open daily, staffed by
professionals, and provide proven programs that provide positive
outcomes
-
Clubs
and programs are available and affordable to all youth; average
annual membership cost to join the Boys & Girls Club is about $20
per year, with scholarships available. The total cost to serve each
child is approximately $500 per year, hence the need for
fundraising, grant development, and contracts for service on local,
county and state levels
